Charles Mingus Group, taught by Yaniv Nachum

Mingus’s compositions, improvisation, and musical attitudes shaped and transcended jazz trends of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s.
Charles Mingus's approach to improvisation and compositions will be the focus of these lessons. During the course you will get acquainted with Mingus's composition techniques, orchestration, and instrumentation approaches and look at how his philosophy is reflected in his music.
Students will be challenged to use Mingus’ approaches and techniques in their own new arrangements.
