Danny Oosterman (1957) studied trumpet, clarinet and conducting of concert and brass bands at the Utrecht Conservatory. He has succesfully conducted concert and brass bands at the highest level and won prizes at national and international competitions. He teaches at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Utrecht and is regularly invited to judge at music competitions.

As an arranger, Danny Oosterman has made numerous transcriptions for concert and brass bands. Additionally, he collaborates with various composers in order to expand the original brass band repertoire. In 2006 he was awarded the Piebe Bakker Award, a national prize for for exceptional work by an educator of young musicians.
