Martijn Vink

Martijn Vink (Culemborg, 1974) studied with Cees Kranenburg at the Hilversum Conservatory.  During his studies he played with several big bands and toured Europe with the German hardbop quintet NEA.

After graduating, he played in the bands of, among others, Jesse van Ruller, Ben van den Dungen, Jarmo Hoogendijk, Jasper Blom, Benjamin Herman, Tineke Postma, Martijn van Iterson, and Anouk. He was also a member of New Cool Collective, The Ploctones, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, accompanying soloists such as Dave Liebman and Kenny Werner. In 2010 he played at the North Sea Jazz Festival with the American saxophonist Chris Potter and in 2011 he recorded a CD with guitarist Philip Catherine. He teaches at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
