Antony Hermus

Antony Hermus is Principal Guest Conductor of the North Netherlands Orchestra and Artistic Advisor of the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. Recently he made successful debuts with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Danish National Symphony, BBC Philharmonic and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He regularly conducts Philharmonia Orchestra London, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Residentie-orchestra and Seoul Philharmonic. In the opera he conducts regularly at Opera National du Rhin (Straßburg), Opera National de Paris, Gothenburg Opera, Komische Oper Berlin and Dutch Reisopera.

Antony was Music Director in Dessau from 2009, where he was nominated ‘Conductor of the Year’ by Opernwelt and die Welt for three years in succession, ending his tenure in summer 2015 with his first Ring cycle and promotion to Honorary Conductor. Before Dessau he had progressed from Repetiteur to Music Director (aged 29) in Hagen, winning many awards for his work there. His large and versatile repertoire contains many operas and symphonic works, from early-classic to contemporary.
