Master Research Symposium 2010

Van 15 t/m 19 maart vindt in het Conservatorium van Amsterdam het zevende Master Research Symposium plaats. Meer dan zeventig studenten uit het masterprogramma van het conservatorium presenteren hun onderzoeksprojecten, in de vorm van een lecture-recital, een workshop of een scriptie-presentatie. Velen treden daarbij op met een ensemble of band.

26 t/m 28 april: masterclasses euphonium en tuba doorJens Bjørn-Larsen

Jens Bjørn-Larsen is een van de populairste tubasolisten ter wereld en een hoog gewaardeerde en succesvolle docent. Sinds zijn twintigste is hij tubasolist in het Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Ook speelt hij als kamer- en ensemblemusicus in zowel het Royal Danish Brass en het Stockholm Chamber Brass. Van 26 t/m 28 april 2010 geeft hij masterclasses die ook toegankelijk zijn voor studenten van andere conservatoria.

CvA-studenten Reinier Baas en Lars Dietrich in finale Deloitte Jazz Award

Gitarist Reinier Baas, altsaxofonist Lars Dietrich en contrabassist Ruben Samama strijden op 14 april a.s. in het Amsterdamse Bimhuis om de Deloitte Jazz Award 2010, de grootste Nederlandse aanmoedigingsprijs voor getalenteerde jazzmusici.

European Keep an Eye Jazz Award 2010: Apply now!

The European Keep an Eye Jazz Award, a joint initiative of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Keep an Eye Foundation, is an annual ensemble competition alternately for jazz students who study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and students from conservatories throughout Europe.

Dave Douglas will be participating as a coach for the student ensembles.

7th International Saxophone Week

We are happy to present to you the seventh edition of the International Saxophone Week. This year the Conservatorium van Amsterdam celebrates its 125 year of existence and we have been trying to 'compose' an extra luxury edition of the ISW with extra concerts, workshops and lectures, of which the majority will be dedicated to the most important source of any musical form: improvisation.
