Anat Cohen
Anat Cohen is a Grammy-nominated clarinetist and saxophonist renowned for her expressive virtuosity, genre-crossing collaborations, and magnetic stage presence. Born in Tel Aviv and based in Brooklyn, she has become one of the leading voices in jazz, praised by outlets like The New York Times and NPR’s Fresh Air. A prolific recording artist, Cohen has released 21 albums as a leader or co-leader, including Bloom (2024) with her group Quartetinho and Interaction (2025) with The 3 Cohens and Germany’s WDR Big Band. Her work frequently explores Brazilian music traditions such as choro and bossa nova, earning her comparisons to Stan Getz and multiple Grammy nominations for albums like Outra Coisa and Rosa Dos Ventos.
Cohen is a founding member of the family trio The 3 Cohens, the all-female supergroup Artemis, and leads her Tentet, featured at major venues including Carnegie Hall and SFJAZZ. She has collaborated with artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Fred Hersch, and Cécile McLorin Salvant. Named Clarinetist of the Year annually by the Jazz Journalists Association since 2007, she also teaches at The New School and Stanford.
