Monique Bakker

Monique Bakker (stage name Moon Baker) sings soul, jazz and rhythm & blues mixed with hiphop. She studied at the Hilversum Conservatory and was nominated for the Pall Mall Jazz Award in 1988. She collaborated with jazzdance group Mendoza Dance Parti on their album Speedy Chicken. She also worked with U-Gene & Oh-Jay and toured Eurpe and Japan with Candy Dulfer’s Funky Stuff.

In 2000 she toured with Anouk as her support act. Additionally, she performed at Lowlands, Noorderslag, Grote Prijs van Nederland and participated in the Heineken CrossOverAward. In 2005 she gave a concert with Funky Stuff at the North Sea Jazz Festival together with Sheila E, Chance Howard and John Blackwell. Furthermore, she collaborated with bands such as the New Cool Collective Big Band, the band Tower Of Power and artists including  Maceo Parker, Van Morrison and Dave Stewart. Currently she performs with the act Public Outcry.
