Jan Teertstra (1989) studied bass guitar at the pop department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Dutch at the University of Antwerp. With his own bands Sunday Sun and Orgel Vreten, he was a welcome guest on the club and festival circuit for many years, but also toured extensively as a session musician (for Laura Jansen, Yentl & De Boer and Willy Mason, among others), at home and abroad. Since 2018, he has played keyboards in the pop band Johan (JHN) and bass guitar in Spinvis' live band. Jan has been active as a (music and language) teacher since 2010. Besides his work as a teacher at the CvA, he currently also teaches at the Herman Brood Academy, the music course of MBO Utrecht. In 2021, he released his first solo album under his own name.
