Bodhi Sykora

Bodhi Sykora obtained her Master's degree in Educational Sciences from Utrecht University. She also studied jazz voice at the Hilversum Conservatory. She has performed with a wide variety of groups: jazz saxophonist Gijs Hendriks, the rock ānā roll group Pink Pettycoat, her own jazz quintet and the Brazilian band Brazilian Love Affair, which she founded, the Dutch Palladium Orchestra and the vocal group Shooting Star. She has also toured Europe with the American jazz and blues band The Lost and Wandering Jazz and Blues Band from New York City and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. As a backing vocalist with the Metropole Orchestra, Bodhi collaborated on Jasperina de Jong's solo programme and the Eurovision radio broadcast with Toots Thielemans, Georgie Fame, Greetje Kauffeld and others in Strasbourg. She is currently active in her Latin jazz group Carinhoso.
Since 1991, she has been a teacher at the Jazz and Pop Departments of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she teaches singing methodology, educational subjects, and voice as a principal subject in the Pop Department. She is also a mentor and supervises research by master's students.
As a teacher, she is also well versed in various musical styles. She has a wide range of educational skills; she is a certified teacher in EVTS (Estill Voice Training System) and closely follows the latest singing techniques.
