Lieve Geuens

Lyric soprano Lieve Geuens (Antwerp) graduated cum laude from the Utrecht Conservatory in classical as well as popular singing. She studied with, among others, Gabriëlle Boré, Eugenie Ditewig, Takako Hara, Udo Reinemann, Cora Canne Meijer, Pedro Paolo Neves and Rachel Ann Morgan.

She started her career as jazz and pop singer and performed with various bands in theatres and on TV and radio. She also worked with artists such as  Georges Moustaki, Madeline Bell and the Nits. Additionally, she made many appearances on the opera platform; she sang roles in opera’s by Mozart, Adam, Puccini and contemporary Dutch/Belgian productions.

Since 2006 she has been a member of The Dutch Opera Singers, performing in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and America. Together with mezzo-soprano Esther Been and pianist Hein Hoogendoorn she forms an opera trio, with which she has given concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland.

Lieve Geuens teaches vocal technique at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
