Jan Wessels

Trumpetist and arranger Jan Wessels (1964) studied at the Hilversum Conservatory with, among others, Ack van Rooyen and Wim van der Vliet. From 1986 to 1991 he studied composing and arranging with Kenny Napper. Since then, he has arranged for orchestras such as the Metropole Orchestra, Dutch Jazz Orchestra, Millennium Big Band and Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, and for artists such as Ronald Douglas, Laura Fygi and Joke Bruis. He teaches at the conservatories of Enschede and Zwolle and is principal subject teacher of trumpet at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
