Richard Jansen is principal subject teacher of Classical percussion and head and section representative of the percussion department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Also, he is principal percussionist with Het Balletorkest. For more than twenty-five years, Richard played in the Netherlands Wind Ensemble and in the Amsterdam Percussion Group. Furthermore, he is a frequent guest with different symphony orchestras and ensembles.

For orchestras such as Het Gelders Orkest and Het Orkest van het Oosten, Richard produces and plays in various educational performances for children in primary education. Additionally, he is a board member of the Gehrels Music Education Foundation, organizes musical teambuilding sessions for management teams, runs a (local) music center and works as a cross-disciplined professional in the cultural secto
