Raymond Munnecom

Raymond Munnecom (Neeritter, 1968) studied at the Maastricht Conservatory and at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Jacques Banens, former principal trombonist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. While a student in Amsterdam, he decided to switch from the tenor to the bass trombone. In Amsterdam, he earned a degree in trombone and in concert and brass band conducting. He joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as a bass trombonist in 1997. Since then, he has also taught at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Raymond Munnecom has organised various projects and tours for the brass ensemble of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, including tours to Copenhagen, Chicago and Suriname. He has served as permanent brass coach for the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands since 2005.
