Peter Besseling

Peter Besseling studied piano with Erie Joesoef and Kees Stokvis at the Muziekpedagogische Academie in Hilversum and subsequently obtained the Dutch Staatsexamen B. He mainly performs as an accompanist of vocalists in lied programmes and as a pianist in chamber music with strings, or with various combinations of brass and woodwind players. Also, he accompanies candidates at various competitions. For more than ten years he has worked together with vocalist Ellen Steffers-Dekker, with whom he performs regularly in a trio.
As an accompanist he has played at the Grote Zaal and Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam several times. In this capacity and as a soloist he also gave concerts in South-Africa.

Peter Besseling is a répétiteur and teacher of piano as a subsidiary subject at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
