Marian Schutjens-Bouwhuis studied piano at the Conservatory of Maastricht with Jean Franssen. After erarning the soloist diploma with honours in1980, she continued her studies with George van Renesse. Her special interest in chamber music playing and accompanying has led to a wide range of performances.

Marian is a teacher and coordinator of Classical piano as a subsidiary subject at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She is also the coordinator of the first year’s bachelor programme in chamber music, student coach and a board member and the treasurer of the Musici van Morgen Foundation. In addition to her muscial activities, she took up a bachelor study in Psychology in 2016.
