After finishing his piano studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Marc Pauwels specialised in methodology and historical development. In 2011 he joined the board of the European Piano Teachers Association Nederland (EPTA). In this capacity he frequently organizes symposiums and continuing education programmes for pianists and piano teachers.

Since 1995 he has been a teacher of piano, methodology and historical development at the Schumann Akademie. In 2012 he joined the piano department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
