Maarten Mostert

Maarten Mostert studied cello with Elias Arizcuren and Anner Bijlsma at the Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam. He continued his studies with Dmitry Ferschtman and with the Amadeus Quartet in Cologne.

Maarten Mostert played in various ensembles, including the Demian Quintet, and performed and gave lessons at numerous festivals at home and abroad. He was co-founder and artistic leader of the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Amsterdam, and he is still a member of the orchestra. He is also the initiator and artistic leader of the Amsterdam Cello Biennale. He is a principal subject teacher of cello at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
