Lydia Kennedy

Lydia Kennedy sudied guitar with Hein Sanderink at the Arnhem conservatory and graduated in 1980 with the 'Prix d'Excellence'. She also took lessons with Alexandre Lagoya.
With guitarist Frans van Gurp she gave many concerts and recorded two CDs, Spanish guitar duets and Alma Brasileira, with works by Heitor Villa Lobos. Lydia also performed with cabaret artist Fons Jansen and recorded film music by Jurre Haanstra with the strings section of the Concertgebouw Orchestra. She commissioned various composers, such as Gijs van Dijk and Cor de Groot, to write works for guitar.
