Jan Hoijtink

Jan Hoijtink studied piano with Thom Bollen, from whom he received his diploma cum laude, and with Jan Wijn. Subsequently, he obtained the diploma Musician Performer with the special endorsement Chamber Music in 1981.
In addition to his private teaching practice, Jan is a répetiteur at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and an accompanier of instrumentalists and vocalists during their exams at the Conservatory. Also, he frequently performs as an accompanier at competitions, master classes and chamber music festivals. Many of the participants that Jan accompanies win prizes.

With his duo partner, violinist Helma Leenhouts, he has built a large repertoire over the years. Together they have given numerous concertos at home and abroad in countries including Estonia, Germany, Finland and Switzerland. Additionally, Jan is a member of the Lovisa Piano Trio that consists of Jan Hoijtink and Helma Leenhouts together with cello player Monique Bartels. The trio has built an extensive and impressive repertoire as well, ranging from classical music to contemporary music and performances with special themes.
