Geert Berghs
Geert Berghs (1953) is a versatile vocalist with a repertoire ranging from the Baroque period to the 21st century. He studied medicine and musicology and completed his PhD in 1988. Furthermore, he studied singing with Margreet Honig, among others. He was a member of The Amsterdam Baroque Choir, conducted by Ton Koopman, and of the a capella pop jazz ensemble Mezzo Macho.
Additionally, Geert Berghs is a teacher and organiser of several international projects for the benefit of his students, including a yearly concert series for young professional ensemble singers in collaboration with the Netherlands Chamber Choir and Cappella Amsterdam.
Geert Berghs is a researcher at the University of Leuven, Belgium, researching topics such as performance anxiety during auditions, and age-related changes in voices of singers of the Groot Omroepkoor.
