Gabriel Bianco

Recognized as one of today’s finest classical guitarists, Gabriel Bianco has won First Prize in some of the most prestigious international competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Guitar Competition (San Francisco, USA 2008) and the Koblenz International Guitar Competition, ‘Hubert Käppel’ (Koblenz, Germany 2007). 

Gabriel has performed in over forty countries and in many of the most renowned festivals and concert halls. As a solo recitalist, his repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to contemporary music, with an emphasis on music from the Romantic period and Spanish music. Many composers have dedicated new works to him. He has recorded two solo albums, Laureate Guitar Series and Capricci.

As a soloist with orchestra, Gabriel has performed with the Koblenz City Orchestra (Germany), the Aukso Orchestra (Poland), Lipetsk Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia), and the Romanian Radio Orchestra. 
Passionate about chamber music, Gabriel is a founding member of the Eclisses Guitar Quartet which won France’s National Federation of Parents’ Associations of Conservatory Students chamber music competition (FNAPEC) in 2013 and became a laureate of the Banque Populaire Foundation. The Quartet has released three recordings: Guitares (2013), Invitation Française (2015), and Pulse (2017). Gabriel often collaborates with other instrumentalists and singers and released the CD Divertissement with oboist Michaela Hrabankova in 2017.

Gabriel has been a teacher at Conservatoire Maurice Ravel in Paris since 2011. In September 2018 he was appointed teacher of guitar as a principal subject at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
