The Contemporary Large Ensemble
This ensemble will focus on arranging techniques, orchestration, forms, styles and interplay within a large ensemble formation. During the course we will explore and discuss other similar works by known contemporary large ensembles (among others, Steve Lehman, David Binney, Dave Holland, Ben Wendel).
The objective is to provide the students with large ensemble experience, different orchestrations and formations and the use of electronics with contemporary (original) repertoire. From the beginning of the course, students will be required to compose new tunes and arrange their own pieces for a large ensemble.
