Harmony in Performance Practice

This course, which is compulsory for all harmonic instrument students, covers the stylistic evolution in the harmonic language and the realisation possibilities of basso continu between app. 1600 - 1800. The course contains theoretical elements as well as practical elements, obtained from promary and secondary sources.

In addition important aspects of performance practice will be covered i.e., cultural context, composition en placement of the basso continuo group, harmony and affect, dynamics, accents, articulation and tempo.
