Bob C.L. Martens
Bob C.L. Martens studied percussion and orchestral conducting at the Muzieklyceum in Hilversum and from 1973 to 2012 was employed as principal subject teacher of percussion at the MPA in Alkmaar, which then became Conservatorium Alkmaar and later again part of Hogeschool Inholland. He was also chairman of the participation council of the School for Communication, Media & Music, part of Hogeschool Inholland, for many years. Since March 2012, he has been a retired practicing musician and chairman of the Stichting Muziekenz.org. which aims to promote the music-agogical value of the medium of music and advance its application. He is also president of the Musical Track Foundation, whose activities include providing art projects for all ages. Music is an important phenomenon, always present somewhere, in the foreground or just in the background. Experiencing/experiencing music, actively or passively keeps the mind sharp and gives you a sense of well-being. This was partly the reason for founding MPA21 (the digital conservatory) together with former colleagues. According to him, training new musical cadre is an important task.
