The conducting department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam offers study programmes in orchestral conducting, choral conducting and conducting concert and brass bands.
During the bachelor programme the orchestral conducting training programme focuses primarily on the many-sided amateur and semi-professional practice; during the master's degree programme the training centres on the practice of professional orchestras and ensembles. The basis of the of choral conducting programme is formed by a thorough training in the technical skills as well as studying the choral repertoire through the ages. The conducting concert and brass bands programme focuses on conducting amateur wind orchestras.
