'My production quality has skyrocketed'

As a self-taught producer, AEMA has significantly elevated my music production skills through industry expert feedback. The lessons are creative and diverse, exploring both musical and technical aspects while helping define my artistic identity. Since starting my studies, my production quality has skyrocketed, resulting in more structured songs and new collaborative opportunities.

My name is Giorgos Aspirtakis, and I am a music producer from Crete, living in Amsterdam since 2014 and I have been releasing music and performing under the name ARGIE. All those years I have been committed to the city, visiting events, clubs and festivals while sharpening my skills and identity around my productions. In 2019 I have started my own record label SUB•EQ Music with focus on helping young artists begin their music journey giving my insights and knowledge. The cause of the label is community driven where the artist receives all his rights and income from releasing music.

During Covid-19, I felt the urge to give something back to the city where I joined a local collective YPNOTIKA as a resident artist and sound engineer helping curate raves and parties around the city while all official events were closed due to the pandemic. This concept had a major impact in the scene of Amsterdam and directly after the lockdown it was hosted in one of the best venues of the city RADION.

As a producer I have been releasing music to labels such as Blackline Recordings, Sensum Digital, Beluga Records and more, with this year's highlight being my first vinyl album release Afterglow with Diffuse Real.

Currently, I am focusing on my education at AEMA.
