On January 31, Katja Naegele won the Davina van Wely Prize at the Dutch Violin Competition 2026. With the Britten Youth String Orchestra, she performed Haydn's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G major and Ernest Bloch's Nigun.
In the semi-finals, Katja had already won the prize for best performance of Arensky's piano trio.

The Davina van Wely Prize is for violinists aged 14 to 17 who want to study violin or are already studying at a conservatoire preparatory course. Katja studies with Wiesje Miedema at the Sweelinck Academy, the CvA's programme for young classical talents.
