Positive assessment for the Music Research Group

This fall, the research groups at the Amsterdam University of the Arts were reviewed. Each research group - with the exception of the Social Justice and Diversity in the Arts group, which will be reviewed later - was visited by a four-person panel that assessed its research programme and the quality, impact, and organisation of the research.

On November 12, the Music Research Group hosted a panel consisting of research experts Prof. Dr. Liesbeth van Zoonen (Erasmus University) and Dr. Lucia D’Errico (Gustav Mahler Private University of Music, Klagenfurt) as well as a chair and a secretary provided by AEQUI, the evaluation agency.

After a day of presentations and discussions with professors, directors, lecturer-researchers, and collaborating partners, the panel gave a positive assessment of the professorship. There was particular praise for the impact it has managed to achieve, both in education, the research domain, and in the city of Amsterdam: “Given the size and limited resources of the research group, it has managed to organize a research culture that is impressive in terms of innovation, impact and dedication.”
