Composer Jeroen Leentjens has won the Alba Rosa Viëtor Calefax Composers Competition 2025 with his work Radimlja. This earns him an amount of € 3500,-. 
Radimlja is ‘a mature composition inspired by Bosnian gravestones and folk music that evokes emotionally charged images,’ writes the Volkskrant in a rave review. 
Jeroen Leentjens studies in the third year of the bachelor's degree in Composition. In March 2026, a new work by him will be performed by the CvA Symphony Orchestra conducted by César Ramos.

The Alba Rosa Viëtor Calefax Composers Competition is a unique collaboration between the composition competitions of Calefax and Alba Rosa Viëtor. The final round, in which four reed quintets performed the works of the finalists, took place during the Calefax Reed Festival, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Calefax Quintet.
