Tenor Salvador Simão, second-year student at the Dutch National Opera Academy, has swept the boards at the prestigious 16. Internationale Gesangswettbewerb für Barockoper ‘Pietro Antonio Cesti' at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik. Besides winning First Prize and the Audience Prize, Salvador secured an engagement at the Resonanzen Wien Festival in 2026.
The Pietro Antonio Cesti Competition, which took place from 26 to 31 August, is one of the most important competitions for Baroque opera singers in the world.
