Gerben Jongsma, master's student in Classical Percussion at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA), has won the percussion audition at PhilZuid. We congratulate Gerben on this great achievement!

At sixteen Gerben was accepted at the Sweelinck Academy, the young talent program of the CvA, where he studied with Arjan Jongsma. He subsequently obtained his bachelor's degree in Classical Percussion at the CvA, where he studied with Mark Braafhart, Bence Major, Richard Jansen, Rachel Xi Zhang and - at a later stage - Bart Jansen and Agostinho Sequiera. Gerben is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Classical Percussion, with a focus on orchestral percussion. He has performed with the Nationaal Jeugdorkest, Het Balletorkest and the Noord Nederlands Orkest, among others.
