Mihai Mircea Spanu, master student of Conducting Concert and Brass Bands, has passed a sensational final examination in Bucharest, taking the first steps towards a promising career. In front of an international exam committee consisting of Pierre Volders (chair), Arjan Tien (CvA teacher), Steven Verhaert (conductor Koninklijk Harmonieorkest Schelle, Antwerp), Felix Goldbach (director of the Valhalia Conservatoire, Romania) and Bogdan Voda (conductor and teacher in Bucharest), Mihai Mircea Spanu conducted two orchestras: the Koninklijk Harmonieorkest Schelle from Antwerp and the Symphonic Wind Band Rumania from Bucharest. The exam concert took place in a full Parliament Palace, the third largest building in the world. In attendance were many parliamentarians from Bucharest and several ambassadors. The concert was also broadcast on TV.
The exam committee unanimously marked his exam a 9.
