The YPF European Piano Competition 2025 started yesterday: from February 26 to March 9, the competition will take place at BIMHUIS and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Twenty young pianists from eight different European countries will compete. Of these twenty, as many as ten talents are studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. They are: Alexander Jansen, Alexandre Lutz García, Carmen Sanchez Labrador, Guillermo Castellano Perez, Juan Lara Mijancos, Luís Vaz, Miquel Iglesias Lista, Philip Karmanov, Sandra Cebrian Hildalgo en Youngjae Kim. YPF European Piano Competition
The YPF European Piano Competition brings top talents from all over Europe to the Netherlands. During the competition young pianists present themselves with a broad repertoire before an expert jury and an interested audience, bringing out the best in themselves. In the final at the Muziekgebouw, three finalists will compete with an orchestra for the first prize.
Programme
Through the calendar on the YPF website, the schedule of concerts for each day can be viewed. From February 26 to March 1, the quarter-finals will take place in BIMHUIS: free admission and free entry. The semi-finalists will be announced on Saturday, March 1 around 2:45 p.m. The eight selected pianists will play their semi-finals on March 4 and 5 (BIMHUIS, free entrance). On Wednesday, March 5, around 4 p.m., the international jury will announce the three finalists for the Grande Finale on Sunday, March 9.
