Apollon Kalamenios wins two awards at the Goodmesh Concours 2024

Apollon Kalamenios, a piano student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, won two awards at the Goodmesh Concours 2024 on Monday evening. The competition, an international interdisciplinary art contest, had the theme “ARTificial” this year.

Together with Wisse Scheele, Apollon took home both the Audience Prize and the Responsible AI Prize. Their winning piece, Echoes of a Lost Bird, blended music, dance, and visuals to explore themes of loss and memory. The piece was praised for its exemplary use of AI as a force for social good.

Apollon Kalamenios is a Cypriot pianist, violinist, and composer. He is currently studying classical piano with Professor David Kuyken at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
