It is with sadness that we have learned of the passing of former oboe teacher Carlo Ravelli.
Carlo Ravelli studied oboe with Jaap Stotijn and violin with Joachim Röntgen at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. He was second oboist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1960 to 1997. He also played in the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, among others, and was second violinist in a string quartet. Additionally, he performed as a soloist.

From 1971 to 1995, Carlo Ravelli was principal subject teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he trained new generations of oboists with great enthusiasm and dedication.

We remember him with great respect and appreciation.
