Trio JEF has won first prize at the Chamber Music Competition 'Jong Gelre', held on Saturday 14 September. JEF is formed by Jasmijn Calis, Esra Jonckman and Fee de Scheemaker, all three recorder students with Hester Groenleer at the Sweelinck Academy.
String Trio Thalia, formed by Alix Rodenburg, violin; Jytte Balm, viola, and Thijmen Tempelaars, cello, won second prize. Alix studies with Sarah Kapustin and Judith Wijzenbeek at the Sweelinck Academy; Jytte studies in the bachelor's degree programme with Judith Wijzenbeek and Thijmen is a former student of the Sweelinck Academy.
