Pura Corda wins joint first prize at Van Wassenaer Competition

Early music ensemble Pura Corda has won a joint first prize at the International Van Wassenaer Competition. 
Pura Corda was formed by violinists Mayumi Sargent Harada and Panagiotis Charalampidis, violist Eura Fortuny Marques, and cellist Antigoni Seferli, all CvA alumni. Mayumi studied with Antoinette Lohmann and Kees Koelmans. Eura Fortuny Marques also studied with Antoinette Lohmann. Antigoni studied with Viola de Hoog and Panagiotis took string quartet lessons with Kees Koelmans

The International Van Wassenaer Competition (IVWC) is the oldest competition for early music ensembles in the Netherlands. Since 2014, the three-day event has taken place during the Utrecht Early Music Festival.
