As of 1 September, 2022, Jaco van den Dool has been appointed Head of Music in Education. He will succeed Adri Schreuder, who retires this year.
Jaco van den Dool has large expertise in the field of music education. After studying music education at Codarts and obtaining a master's degree in musicology at the University of Amsterdam, he obtained his PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam with a thesis on the role of the body in musical learning processes. He is the founder of the School of Performing Arts in Kathmandu, Nepal. As an education innovator he gives lectures and training on research as a catalyst for the development and improvement of education. As a school leader, he has future-proofed educational institutions and and left no opportunity unused to give arts education a permanent place in the curriculum.
