Joren Elsen appointed principal subject teacher of historical trombone

The Conservatorium van Amsterdam is delighted to welcome Joren Elsen as a teacher of historical trombone as a principal subject. With his amazing versatility in the field of early and contemporary music, as well as his passion for music, psychology and pedagogy, he will be a valuable asset to the teaching staff of both the Classical and the Early Music Departments. 

Joren Elsen (1993, Belgium) plays with world-famous Early Music ensembles (Collegium Vocale, Vox Luminis, Capriccio Stravagante, La Sfera Armoniosa, B’Rock) as well as contemporary music ensembles such as Ensemble Modern, Lucerne Festival Alumni, SPECTRA. As a freelancer he regularly plays with all the symphony and opera orchestras of Belgium (Symphony Orchestra of Flanders, de Munt, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège), wind ensemble I Solisti, and he performs as a soloist. He collaborated with conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Simon Rattle, Skip Sempé and Ricardo Chailly.
