The Conservatorium van Amsterdam proudly announces that Ella van Poucke has been appointed teacher of cello as a principal subject. She will join the cello teaching team as of 1 September 2022. Ella van Poucke is a young musician with an impressive international career, and we are delighted that she will come and share her knowledge and experience with a new generation of cellists.
After making her debut at the Concertgebouw at the age of 10 Ella has performed in leading concert halls at home and abroad. She has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras throughout Europe. She premiered a cello concerto written for her by the Finnish composer Uljas Pulkkis at the International Cello Biennale 2012 in Amsterdam. Additionally, she is a passionate chamber musician, and she regularly gives recitals, for instance with her brother Nicolas van Poucke.
