Conservatorium of Amsterdam launches two new programmes

Published on

Starting September 2020, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam will launch two new programmes: AEMA Hybrid and the Young Pop Academy. Registration is already possible for both programs through the website.

AEMA Hybrid
The Amsterdam Electronic Music Academy is the leading course for electronic musicians and DJs at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Students follow courses such as music technology, composition, music theory, culture, and history courses with a focus on music production.

Starting in September 2022, the AEMA will offer the option of taking the study program primarily online under AEMA Hybrid. Students study via online video lessons and a state-of-the-art learning management system from home. They work together with students and lecturers on-site and receive personal feedback. In addition, there are several mandatory class weeks per year on location in Amsterdam, where students participate in projects, specific study assignments, exams, and receive direct feedback. Graduates receive the same Associate Degree as the on-site program.

Young Pop Academy
The Young Pop Academy (YPA) is the new programme for young talent between the ages of 12 and 17 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. At the YPA candidates learn to master their instrument at a high level and they get the chance to develop as a performer and songwriter with their own style, sound and vision. There is also a challenging curriculum for producers.

Students will be taught in the main building of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, with all the facilities needed for the lessons and performances. The lessons take place on Saturdays, so students can follow YPA alongside secondary school.
