Composer Frieda Gustavs is winner of the YAA-Award 2021. As a composer, she stands out for her search for extra-musical sources of inspiration, the combination of new technologies and the important role of community art in her work. In 2020 she graduated from the bachelor’s degree programme in Composition at the CvA; currently she studies in the master’s degree programme. 

The YAA-Award is an Amsterdam-based initiative founded by art lovers that supports young talented artists as they embark on their professional careers. Every year candidates are nominated from various art disciplines, from which five winners are chosen.
