Congratulations to Sweelinck Academy students Adam Akopian (12), Christiaan Blom (12) and Julian Jeukendrup (14)! They have participated successfully in the national final of the Princess Christina Competition.
Adam Akopian, piano student with Frank Peters, won second prize in category 1. Christiaan Blom won third prize in the same category. He also won the ‘Ruud van der Meer Prize’: a scholarship for the finalist who through a big stage presence already knows how to communicate with the audience. Christiaan studies with Hester Groenleer.
Violinist Julian Jeukendrup received an honourable mention. Formerly a student with Coosje Wijzenbeek, he now studies with Sarah Kapustin.
