Alumnus Gerard Spronk wins Kersjesprijs 2020

Violinist Gerard Spronk has won the ‘Kersjesprijs’ 2020 with his ensemble Delta Piano Trio. The prize, an amount of € 50.000,- was awarded to them for their warm, lush sound, their perfect balance and their compelling performance.’ The report also states that the jury was impressed by the wonderful career the trio has already managed to build at a young age. "We would like to make a substantial contribution to this a view to a successful future."
Gerard Spronk studied violin with Vera Beths at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in 2013. The other members of the trio are cellist Irene Enzlin and pianist Vera Kooper.

Former Sweelinck Academy student Charlotte Spruit was awarded a Kersjes Violin Grant of € 15.000,-. Furthermore, four string quartets were awarded a Kersjes Grant of € 10.000,- each: the Dostojevski Quartet, formed by (former) CvA students Charlotte Basalo Vázquez, Julia Kleinsmann, Francesca Wiersma and Emma Kroon; the ADAM Quartet, with (former) CvA students Margot Kolodziej, Hannelore De Vuyst, Liselot Blomaard and Renée Timmer; the Helikon Quartet, with (former) CvA students Stella Zake, Lotus de Vries and Renate Apperloo, and the Belinfante Quartet, with alumna Fiona Robertson.
