CvA student Lucie Horsch (20), recorder, has been awarded the Dutch Music Prize, the highest distinction in the Netherlands in the field of classical music. “Lucie Horsch demonstrates a rare unity between musician and instrument," said the jury. “Her playing is characterized by a high degree of musical concentration, a well-balanced technique and intense, overwhelming performance. Lucie Horsch is a musician with a small instrument, a great ambition and an inspiring and broad view. This offers the prospect of a great career and a strongly internationally oriented musical future. "
In addition to recorder Lucie Horsch also studies piano at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

The Dutch Music Prize is the highest distinction awarded to a classical musician on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Previous prize winners include percussionist Dominique Vleeshouwers, violinists Maria Milstein and Liza Ferschtman, pianist Ronald Brautigam, harpists Remy van Kesteren and Lavinia Meijer, cellists Pieter Wispelwey and Quirine Viersen, saxophonist Ties Mellema, recorder player Erik Bosgraaf, vocalists Geert Smits, Christianne Stotijn and Henk Neven and guitarist Izhar Elias, many of whom are Conservatorium van Amsterdam alumni and/or teachers.
