Kersjes Grant for violinist Hawijch Elders

Hawijch Elders (1998) has won the Kersjes Grant for violinists 2019, an amount of €15.000,-. The jury describes Elders as a "young, promising violinist of the highest order" and praises the young violinist for her performance and "intense musicality". Hawijch Elders has been studying violin with Ilya Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam since 2016, where she was selected for an Excellence programme, bachelor Classical Music.

In 2018 she won the audience award as well as the second prize at the Oskar Back concours. At the prestigious international competition 'Rodolfo Lipizer' in Italy, she won several awards including the prize for best performance of a Sivori etude and the prize for most talented young violinist.
