Lucas Santana to be a member of 2019 JM Jazz World Orchestra

Saxophonist Lucas Figueiredo Santana has been selected to play in the 2019 JM Jazz World Orchestra. The JM Jazz World Orchestra is the world’s premier international youth jazz orchestra. The members are selected by an international jury through global open auditions. This year there were over one hundred applications from more than thirty different countries.

The band works with some of the planet’s finest conductors and tours annually, appearing at prestigious European venues and jazz festivals. This year they will perform under the artistic direction of Luis Diego Bonilla featuring Alex Sipiagin, John Riley, Dick Oatts, Joe Kaplowitz, Lela Kaplowitz, Goran Rukavina, Vladimir Samardži?.

Lucas Figueiredo Santana (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 1993) studies in the fourth year of the bachelor’s degree programme in jazz saxophone. Next month he will perform his final exam.
