Prizes for Silvia Lanao and Ramin Amin Tafreshi at Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition

Silvia Lanao Aregay (Spain, 1995) has won first prize at the Alba Rosa Viëtor Competition Composition for her composition Empordà. Ramin Amin Tafreshi (Iran, 1992) took joint second prize for his work It’s the Voice that shall Remain. He was also awarded the Audience Prize.nRamin studies in the second year and Silvia in the fourth year of the bachelor’s degree programme in Composition.
The competition judges were Willem Jeths, Tansy Davies, Detlev Glanert, Calliope Tsoupaki and Paolo Marzocchi.

The Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition forms part of the Alba Rosa Viva! Festival, a festival named after composer and violinist Alba Rosa Viëtor which is dedicated to music written by female composers in particular.
