The Mo van der Does Quartet has won the Expression of Art Award 2018. The prize includes a scholarship of € 5000,-, to be put towards career development. The Audience Prize was awarded to the Matthias van den Brande Group; this award included - for the first time - an amount of € 750,-, sponsored by Sennheiser.
The Expression of Art Award is a competition set up by the Conservatorium Hotel in collaboration with the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. This year the judges were saxophonist Benjamin Herman, guitarist Jesse van Ruller, and Edo Righini, Assicoate Director and Head of jazz at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
