First prize for Delta Piano Trio

Alumnus Gerard Spronk and his ensemble, Delta Piano Trio, have won first prize at the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition in Basel. The prize consists of an amount of 5000 Swiss francs and a subsidy from the Pro Helvetia Foundation to commission a work for the ensemble.

In 2013, Gerard graduated from the bachelor’s degree programme in violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied with  Vera Beths. In the same year year he formed the Delta Piano Trio, together with cellist Irene Enzlin and pianist Vera Kooper.
